Costa dei Borghi

Costa dei Borghi – Riviera Fermana is the territorial project created to narrate and enhance in a unified way the six coastal municipalities of the province of Fermo: Altidona, Campofilone, Fermo, Pedaso, Porto San Giorgio, and Porto Sant’Elpidio.

A territory that combines sea, historic villages, hills, culture, traditions, landscape, and hospitality, choosing to present itself as a shared, recognizable destination capable of expressing a common vision.

From where it originates

The project is part of the Territorial Strategy “Soft-Blue Fermano. A Sea of Attractions for a Common Waterfront”, promoted within the programming PR Marche FESR 2021-2027.

Costa dei Borghi arises from a collaborative process among administrations, operators, institutions, associations, and local communities, aiming to build a new shared territorial identity and strengthen the tourist enhancement of the Riviera Fermana.

A territory, many identities

The Costa dei Borghi does not erase the identities of individual municipalities but relates them. Each locality preserves its own history, landscapes, traditions, and vocations; the project is designed to let these differences dialogue within a broader narrative.

The sea remains one of the central elements of the destination but intertwines with villages, hills, cultural heritage, food and wine, events, craftsmanship, and experiences that make this stretch of Marche recognizable.

The objectives of the project

Costa dei Borghi aims to strengthen the recognition of the Riviera Fermana as an integrated tourist destination, capable of enhancing the link between the coast and the hinterland and promoting the area through more coordinated communication.

The project aims to foster a shared vision among the involved municipalities, improve the unified perception of the destination, support the quality of hospitality, and enhance the cultural, natural, social, and tourist resources present in the area.

Another central objective is to contribute to building a more cohesive territorial system, where the public and private sectors can collaborate to strengthen the attractiveness of the Riviera Fermana and guide tourist development in a sustainable, balanced, and coherent manner with the identity of the places.

Costa dei Borghi is, above all, a territory project: a journey that views the Riviera Fermana as a system made up of places, people, communities, and experiences.

A destination that finds its strength in the relationship between the sea and the villages, in the quality of life, in the genuineness of hospitality, and in the ability to offer an authentic way to discover the Marche.
